Boeing Replaces Head Of Commercial Airplanes Amid 737 MAX Crisis
Boeing has fired a top executive as investigations continue into two deadly plane crashes involving its newest airliner.

SEATTLE, WA — Boeing has replaced the chief executive of the company's Commercial Airplanes division, according to the Associated Press. Kevin McAllister will be replaced by Stanley Deal, who previously led Boeing's services division. The Seattle Times reports his firing was related not only to the MAX crisis but several other high profile issues under his leadership, including engine problems with the 777X and the recent discovery of cracks in some older 737s.
The Associated Press reports the MAX's grounding has cost the company billions of dollars, and dozens of lawsuits have been filed by families of those killed in two crashes. Boeing's CEO, Dennis Muilenburg, is scheduled to testify before Congress at the end of the month.
