Busy Traffic Weekend In Seattle Due To Events, Construction

Traffic is bad in the Seattle area anyway, but it might be slightly worse this weekend.

SEATTLE, WA - If you're heading to Seattle this weekend (or already live there), this upcoming weekend might be particularly nasty for traffic. On top of normal traffic, there are several events and construction projects that will disrupt roadways.

Hot Chocolate 15K/5K

  • The route will close the Aurora Avenue Bridge and the Battery Street Tunnel starting at 6 a.m.
  • 6 a.m. to 10:25 a.m. – The southbound lanes of SR 99 will be closed between North 38th Street and the south end of the Battery Street Tunnel.
  • 6 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. – The northbound lanes of SR 99 will be closed between the south end of the Battery Street Tunnel and North 48th Street.
