Cabins, Yurts Begin Reopening At Washington State Parks

Reservations are now open for covered rentals at nearly three dozen Washington state parks, officials announced Tuesday.

OLYMPIA, WA — Cabins, yurts and other roofed shelters are again available for reservation as state parks continue with reopening plans in Washington.

All enclosed accommodations were shuttered March 25 when strict coronavirus restrictions were first put into place. State lands resumed day-use in early May, and campgrounds began to reopen as more counties reached Phase 2 of the governor's Safe Start plan.

According to parks officials, visitors can immediately begin placing reservations for indoor stays at more than 30 state parks. Reopened facilities include everything from vacation homes to "rustic shelters," like teepees, platform tents and fire lookouts.
