Woman, 72, Dies After Car Crashes Into Seattle Home
A woman died on Tuesday after a car drove into a home near Lake City in Seattle.

SEATTLE, WA - The Seattle police department is investigating the circumstances around an accident Tuesday morning where a car hit a house, killing a 72-year-old woman inside. The accident happened around 11 a.m. at a home in the Meadowbrook neighborhood, just south of Lake City. The home is located near the intersection of 38th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 107th Street.
Seattle police said Tuesday afternoon that detectives are investigating why a 2004 Mercedes sedan driven by an 88-year-old woman crashed into the house. Police interviewed the driver at the scene, and said she did not display any signs of impairment.

First responders found a 2004 Mercedes sedan inside the residence, after it went through a wall and into a bedroom. The collision struck a 72-year-old female inside and she died as a result of her injuries. Officers contacted the 88-year-old female driver. As is routine, a drug-recognition expert officer responded and evaluated her for any signs of impairment. She did not show any signs of impairment. TCIS detectives responded and began their investigation. This remains an active and on-going investigation.
