Celebrating 4/20? Don't Drive High, Police Warn

Police around Puget Sound will step up enforcement on April 20, the pot smoking holiday.

SEATTLE, WA - Whatever your opinion on the matter, Washington is one of the hottest spots to celebrate April 20, the pot user's holiday. But local police are warning cannabis-enjoyers not to drive high. Police across Puget Sound will be out today patrolling for drivers under the influence.

Patrols will be especially high in southeast King County, according to the sheriff's office. Driving high is not as easy to detect as drunk driving, but police in Washington can arrest people found with more than 5 nanograms of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in their blood.

The ride sharing service Lyft is offering discounted rides Friday so you don't have to drive high. You can get $4.20 off a ride today only.
