Dangerously Hot Weekend For Puget Sound: Forecast
Friday will be the coolest day of the weekend - and we'll get close to 90 degrees.

SEATTLE, WA - Topping out at 89 degrees at Sea-Tac, Thursday was the hottest day of 2018 so far in the Puget Sound region. That record won't stand for long as we head into a weekend featuring temperatures in excess of 90 degrees.
The hot weekend comes during an already very dry July. There's a red flag warning in Eastern Washington, but Western Washington is also somewhat of a tinderbox. Burn bans are in effect all around the region to prevent wildfire flare-ups.
Heat is also extremely dangerous for the body, especially for the very young and elderly people. According to the Centers for Disease Control, sweating can sometimes not be enough for the body to cool itself during high heat. That can cause heat stroke, organ damage, and severe dehydration. The CDC advises everyone to drink plenty of water, avoid excessive activity and alcohol, and seek out buildings with air conditioning.
