Doug Baldwin Visits 4 Seattle Schools, Distributes $75K In Grants
The money will help pay for school-level STEM programs and establish a district-wide Student Leadership Council.

SEATTLE, WA — Retired Seahawks Wide Receiver Doug Baldwin visited four Seattle schools Thursday, giving out more than $75,000 in grants to boost STEM programs and help establish a district-wide Student Leadership Council.
Baldwin paid visits to Aki Kurose Middle School, Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, Northgate Elementary School, and Rising Star Elementary School. The grants are jointly funded by the Seahawks Players Fund and the Players Coalition.
According to a news release, the schools were chosen as part of the organizations' goal to close resource gaps in low-income communities and improve education and leadership opportunities for students of color, who often lack access to robust programs.

"We are passionate about providing opportunity and access to quality modern education where it currently does not exist or is difficult to access because every child deserves an equitable educational experience," Baldwin said in a statement.
Over the next year, the Players Coalition plans to provide additional grants to schools in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Washington D.C.
