Evergreen Academy™ Elementary School Students Raise $13,000

For the 10th year, students participated in the Jump Rope For Heart fundraiser to support heart health with the American Heart Association

Students at Evergreen Academy Elementary School in Bothell hosted their 10th annual Jump Rope For Heart Program and raised more than $13,000 for the American Heart Association, which funds lifesaving heart and stroke research, as well as community and educational programs for kids. Leading up to the event, students collected donations throughout the community, practiced jumping rope and learned how to keep their hearts healthy. During the event, students participated in a variety of jump rope challenges. Among the donations, second grade student Aahil Javani was recognized for raising the most money after contributing $1,200 to the fundraiser. The students’ donations will support research and education that help decrease the impact of heart disease and stroke within the community.

For 38 years, millions of students have jumped rope and learned about heart health and how nutrition and physical activity can help prevent heart disease and stroke. Jump Rope For Heart is co-sponsored by the American Heart Association and the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) America. For more information, visit www.heart.org/jump.
