Fireworks Caused Fire That Killed King County Man: KCSO

BURIEN, WA — The July 4 house fire that left a 70-year-old man dead was caused by fireworks, the King County Sheriff's Office is saying.

The fire broke out around 11:30 p.m. along 10th Avenue South in a neighborhood in unincorporated King County north of Glen Acres Country Club. Firefighters from Tukwila, Skyway, Renton, and Kent responded to the blaze, which ended up damaging two houses.

In addition to the death, 12 people were left homeless, and a dog is still missing. The sheriff's office is still investigating.
