SEATTLE — First lady Jill Biden is scheduled to visit Seattle and Tacoma this week, making three stops around town, including a fundraiser for Sen. Patty Murray’s reelection campaign. According to The Seattle Times, Biden will land at Seattle’s Boeing Field around 3:15 p.m. Friday then travel by motorcade to Bates Technical College.

On Saturday, Biden is scheduled to speak at a Murray fundraising event somewhere in Seattle at noon before making the trip to Seattle Center for a celebration hosted by the Hidden Helpers Coalition. According to KING 5, the latter event is part of the “Joining Forces” initiative designed to support military families, founded by former first lady Michelle Obama.

None of the three events will be open to the general public, according to The Seattle Times.

Biden’s two-day trip to the Evergreen State is likely to cause traffic delays around the greater Seattle area, potentially impacting drivers journeying to T-Mobile Park for the Seattle Mariners watch party. Like with presidential visits, the Washington State Department of Transportation warns little notice will be available for temporary closures as the motorcade travels, due to restrictions from the Secret Service.
