Forbes: 10 Washington Employers Among Best For Diversity
A 2020 ranking from Forbes lists the 500 best employers for diversity in the United States.
The business magazine Forbes, in partnership with market research firm Statista, has released its third annual list of the 500 Best Employers For Diversity in America.
Washington is home to the headquarters of 10 of the best employers for diversity in the nation, according to Forbes. However, none of them land in the top 100.

Forbes compiled the comprehensive rankings by surveying 60,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. Respondents were first asked to rate their organizations on criteria such as age, gender, ethnicity, disability and sexual orientation, according to authors of the Forbes report.
After the 60,000 surveys were completed, Statista then asked respondents belonging to minority groups to nominate organizations other than their own for a spot on the list. The final list included the 500 employers that not only received the most recommendations but also had the most diverse boards and executive ranks.
Here are the top 10 best employers for diversity in the United States in 2020, according to Forbes:
- SAP: Newtown Square, Pennsylvania
- Henry Ford Health System: Detroit, Michigan
- Procter & Gamble: Cincinnati, Ohio
- Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center: Columbus, Ohio
- Visa: Foster City, California
- Ultimate Software Group: Weston, Florida
- Levi Strauss & Co: San Francisco, California
- Duke University: Durham, North Carolina
- JLL: Chicago, Illinois
- Tufts Health Plan: Watertown, Massachusetts
