Fremont Solstice Parade - Nudity And All - Happens This Weekend

The annual Fremont solstice celebration - including the signature nude bicyclists - happens Saturday at a new time.

SEATTLE, WA - Saturday is your chance to attend Puget Sound's most family-friendly event that involves nudity. The annual Fremont Solstice Parade and weekend-long fair kicks off Saturday (at a new time) in central Fremont. And although the naked bike riders draw most of the attention, a lot more happens during the solstice celebration.

The parade - which includes everything from the nude (but body-painted) bikers to giant puppets and weirdo marching bands - begins at 1 p.m. at the corner of Northwest 39th Street and Leary Way. The parade snakes through the neighborhood, ending at Gasworks Park on Lake Union.

At the same time, the Fremont Fair will be going on both Saturday and Sunday, and entry is free. Some events during the fair include:

  • Dog Parade | Sunday, 2:30 p.m. | 34th Street
  • Craft Market | Saturday, Sunday, all day | 34th Street
  • Street Food | Saturday, Sunday, all day | 34th Street
  • Music | Saturday, Sunday 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. | various locations
