A Glimpse Of Summer On Tap For Puget Sound This Week

Afternoon highs from the 70s to low-80s are forecast in Western Washington until the weekend.

SEATTLE, WA — After a mild summer solstice, temperatures are on the rise throughout Western Washington this week, with more sunny skies forecast Thursday and Friday. For those who prefer the clouds and wet weather, both are expected to make a return into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service forecast, Tuesday and Friday are on track to be the week's two warmest days, and Wednesday is the only day with a chance of rain until late Friday.

Temperatures are expected to fall below 70 degrees by Saturday, and rain will again be in the cards from Friday night through Monday.

NWS forecasters said cloud cover expected Wednesday will see high temperatures drop about 10 degrees in most areas, with light rain showers for most throughout the day. The skies will begin to clear Thursday morning, setting the table for more warm, dry weather into Friday afternoon. Rain showers will return for many Friday night and Saturday, with widespread showers in the forecast through Sunday.
