Heat Advisory Issued For Puget Sound

Temperatures are predicted be higher than 90 in some areas Monday and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

SEATTLE, WA - Almost the entire I-5 corridor will be under a heat advisory beginning Monday as temperatures are predicted to soar into the mid-90s or higher. It will be hottest Monday afternoon and Tuesday between Edmonds and Olympia, but areas north of Everett are not under an advisory.

The National Weather Service is urging residents to be cautious with outdoor activities on Monday. The heat may also exacerbate illness, especially in the elderly and young children. Here's the full advisory:

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Heat Advisory, which is in effect from noon Monday to 10 PM PDT Tuesday.
* TEMPERATURES...High temperatures in many areas along the I-5 corridor from Seattle south will reach the mid 90s Monday and Tuesday.
* TIMING...The warmest weather of this recent hot spell will be Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...The elderly, people without access to air conditioning or fans, and anyone engaged in prolonged outdoor activities will be vulnerable to the heat.
