Heat Advisory Issued For Puget Sound

The National Weather Service is warning of excessively hot temperatures across Puget Sound on Monday.

SEATTLE, WA - The National Weather Service on Monday issued a heat advisory for almost all of Puget Sound because temperatures are expected to reach around 90 degrees.

A heat advisory means that the combination of heat and humidity will be enough to cause heat-related illness. The risks are higher for the elderly, children, pets, and people who are already sick.

"Take extra precautions, if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water," the NWS warned.
