The Heat Is On: Summer-Like Weather Arrives In Washington
The next couple of days are poised to be the warmest of the year so far, with temperatures from the mid-70s to mid-80s across Washington.
SEATTLE, WA — This Mother's Day weekend is primed to be a beautiful one across the state, as the warmest days of the year unfurl across the region.
Afternoon highs Saturday and Sunday are forecast near or above 80 throughout western Washington, according to the National Weather Service. Overnight lows will hover around the mid-to-upper 50s.

The dry conditions will create an increased fire risk, and those planning to grill should exercise some caution. Light easterly winds expected between Friday night and Sunday, and some breezy conditions in the Cascade Foothills, could add to the fire danger.

Satellite images show clear skies over Western Washington through Sunday, with just a few high clouds possible near the Canadian border, according to NWS Seattle. High temperatures will begin to drop off Monday, staying in the low 70s, as the clouds return. A chance of rain will return Monday night into Tuesday.

Parks open, outdoor recreation allowed — with precuations

With the beautiful weather, many will want to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. Under the governor's modified rules on outdoor recreation, day trips to parks are allowed with members of your household, along with hiking, fishing, boating, and other activities with certain precautions and appropriate social distancing.
Pierce County parks reopened Tuesday, and King County parks welcomed visitors back Friday. In Seattle, Mayor Jenny Durkan announced all parks in the city would close at 8 p.m. until further notice, to help deter bonfires, parties and large public gatherings.
