Heat Wave Coming To Puget Sound This Week?

SEATTLE, WA - For late April in the Pacific Northwest, any day where the temperature breaches 70 degrees is a heat wave. So by all current forecasts, we're in for a heat wave this week.

Temperatures were already near-perfect on Sunday, but it will warm up Monday to near 70 degrees. By Thursday, many spots around the area will be up around the high 70s - if not breaching the 80-degree mark.

Here's the week ahead forecast from the National Weather Service:

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 69. North northeast wind 7 to 9 mph.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 47. East northeast wind 6 to 10 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 73. North northeast wind around 6 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49. North northeast wind 6 to 9 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 75.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 53.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 77.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50.

Friday: A slight chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 68.

Friday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47.
