Heat Wave Headed To Puget Sound: Forecast

You'll have to wait a few days, but temperatures above 80 are set to return soon.

SEATTLE, WA - If you like heat, you'll only have to wait until next weekend to get a taste of temperatures in the 80s.

The upcoming week will be pretty similar to recent days - cloudy, maybe rainy, burst of sunshine, and temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. But next Sunday, temperatures are forecast to jump more than 10 degrees and stay that way for days.

So hang in there, summer is on the way. Here's what this week will look like, according to the National Weather Service:

Monday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 68. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49. North northeast wind 6 to 10 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

Tuesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53.

Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65.

Wednesday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.

Thursday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 66.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 69.
