Hit-And-Run Driver Strikes 17 Cars Along 8 Miles of I-5: UPDATE
The incident spanned northbound I-5 from Boeing Field to downtown Seattle.

SEATTLE, WA - A hit-and-run driver snarled traffic along northbound I-5 Friday morning after striking 17 vehicles between the Martin Luther King Jr. Way S exit near Rainier Beach and the Yesler Way overpass downtown, Washington State Patrol said.
As of 11 a.m., all lanes of I-5 northbound were open, but traffic had backed up as far as four miles earlier in the morning. The hit-and-run driver came to a stop near the Seneca Street exit.
Miraculously, Washington State Patrol reported no one was injured. Police have not said what caused the driver to hit so many vehicles along that 8-mile stretch of I-5.
