Hotter Weather Returns Through Thursday: Puget Sound Forecast
Another quick run of late summer heat returns this week, and there are some signs that warmer temperatures could linger into September.

SEATTLE — Temperatures will run well above normal through the end of August before cooling off for a pleasant and mostly sunny Labor Day weekend, according to the latest forecasts.
The National Weather Service expects to next run of late summer heat will peak Tuesday through Wednesday, when afternoon highs will range from the mid-80s to mid-90s across the lowlands and mountain valleys. Areas around North Bend and Olympia are forecast to clear the 90-degree mark Tuesday, while places like Seattle and Puyallup may fall just short.
A heat advisory will be in effect from noon Tuesday to Wednesday night.

Forecasters expect Wednesday will look pretty similar for most, with afternoon temperatures sticking within a couple of degrees in either direction. Most locations in the forecast area will see moderate heat risks through Wednesday, but there is a small chance of higher risks for communities in the Cascade foothills.
According to the National Weather Service, Thursday will stay sunny and warm, knocking off another couple of degrees in Seattle, before cooler air helps bring temperatures back down to the high 70s to kick off the long holiday weekend.

Looking ahead to next month, long-range forecasts are tilted in favor of above-normal temperatures lingering through the first week of September. For those missing the rain, there could be some good news: The latest climate outlooks show better odds for wetter than usual conditions over the same period.

- Tuesday: 87°/62° (Sunny)
- Wednesday: 86°/59° (Sunny, slight chance of PM showers)
- Thursday: 84°/59° (Sunny)
- Friday: 79°/59° (Mostly sunny)
- Saturday: 78°/59° (Partly sunny)
