How You Can Use Google App To Find Seattle Parking Spaces

A new Google Maps feature shows you where spaces are likely to be available.

SEATTLE, WA - You can Google most things, so why not parking?

The company has released a new feature for its Google Maps app that allows users to find out where parking spaces are available. The company rolled out the feature in 21 cities recently, including in the Seattle metropolitan area.

Here's how it works: when you enter directions into the app, a little icon will appear telling you whether parking at your destination is limited, medium-full, or easy to find. The data is based on averages, and isn't real-time. It's also only available for Android users.

The feature is similar to how Google estimates how busy local businesses and restaurants are. For example, if you look up Din Tai Fung on Google Maps, a little graph pops up showing you when the restaurant is most busy (answer: always).
