I-5, SR 99 Closures This Weekend, Plan Ahead
It'll be a nasty weekend getting through Seattle. At least light rail is running as normal.

SEATTLE, WA - It'll be a messy or at least slow weekend of travel through Seattle. Both I-5 and the Alaskan Way Viaduct/SR 99 will be partially closed all weekend, according to WSDOT.
And, WSDOT is also throwing in a wildcard this weekend. Alaskan Way - the one along the waterfront - will also be closed for about 12 hours, restricting access to the Colman ferry dock.

Northbound I-5 will be down to two lanes between Olive Way (Capitol Hill) and Martin Luther King Jr. Way (Tukwila). The closure lasts 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. The closure is part of the Revive I-5 project, and construction crews will be paving and replacing expansion joints. A bunch of on and off-ramps will also close, including:
- West Seattle Bridge/Spokane Street/Columbian Way off-ramp
- Columbian Way on-ramp
- Michigan Street on- and off-ramps
- Cherry Street on-ramp
- Olive Way off-ramp
- Seneca Street off-ramp
- University Street on-ramp
SR 99 southbound will be closed 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday between the Battery Street Tunnel (Belltown) and Spokane Street (West Seattle Bridge). Crews will be repaving the area near Atlantic Street.

Alaskan Way will close at 8 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday between Railroad Way South (near CenturyLink) and Wall Street (Belltown). Crews will be re-striping the roadway for a traffic realignment.
