Icy Morning Commute Ahead Of More Rain Expected Friday
After a day that brought a few sun breaks for most, wet weather is expected to return Friday evening — this time without the lowland snow.

SEATTLE, WA — Areas of black ice had already started to form on some streets Thursday evening, as temperatures dipped into the freezing range around Puget Sound. The National Weather Service said Friday morning lows were likely to be at or near freezing for many towns, creating the conditions for slick roads in areas with recent moisture or melting snow.
Add Shoreline and Shelton to the black ice on the roads list. Black ice will become more widespread overnight as temperatures drop a couple of degrees. #wawx

Afternoon highs are expected to break through the 40s Friday afternoon, ahead of another wet weather system moving into the area Friday evening. Forecasters said widespread precipitation is expected, but snow levels should stay between 500 and 1,000 feet, limiting the potential for lowland snow in most areas.
