Inslee 'Enthusiastically' Endorses Jenny Durkan
In a new campaign ad, Gov. Jay Inslee says, "We need Jenny now."

SEATTLE, WA - Seattle mayoral candidate Jenny Durkan is releasing a new campaign ad featuring Gov. Jay Inslee "enthusiastically" endorsing the former U.S. Attorney. This is the second high-profile endorsement of Durkan by a powerful elected official in as many weeks; King County Executive Dow Constantine endorsed her on Sept. 25.
"Hi - I'm Jay Inslee, and I'm announcing today that I'm enthusiastically endorsing Jenny Durkan for the mayor's position for the great city of Seattle," Inslee says in the ad, according to a transcript. "It is such a bastion of progressive values, of openness, and tolerance - always forward thinking and inventing the future."
Inslee goes on to laud Durkan's "Seattle Promise" plan, which would grant free tuition to Seattle Colleges for graduating high school seniors.

The announcement of the Inslee endorsement came a few hours after Moon on Wednesday morning that she had selected a mayoral transition team. The team includes Diane Sugimura, Ray Hoffman, Esther Handy, and Nicole Vallestero Keenan.
Moon's last big endorsement came on Sept. 29 from a group of local unions including UFCW 21, the largest private-sector union in the state with about 44,000 members.
