Jayapal Calls Steve Bannon Firing A 'Victory' - But More Firings Needed
Even after Bannon's firing Friday, U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal is calling for more White House staffers to be fired.

SEATTLE, WA - After drafting a resolution this week urging President Donald Trump to fire chief strategist Steve Bannon, U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Seattle, said Friday that Trump's firing of Bannon is a "victory for the American people."
But that doesn't mean Jayapal is satisfied. She asking Trump on Friday to fire anyone else in the White House associated with the alt-right or the white supremacy movement.
"He must rid the White House of hatemongers, acknowledge that our diversity is a key strength, and begin the real work of bringing America together in a way that lifts up all," Jayapal said in a statement Friday.

Jayapal is also seeking to censure Trump over remarks he made Tuesday about how there is blame on "both sides" for what happened in Charlottesville over the weekend. It's unlikely the censure will pass the Republican-controlled Congress, but Jayapal has said that the measure is a way of getting elected officials on the record about how they feel about Trump's comments.
