KEXP DJ Creates Seattle Squeeze Spotify Playlist

SEATTLE, WA - KEXP DJ Sharlese Metcalf has created a Seattle Squeeze playlist, the perfect soundtrack for your bus, bike, foot, or light rail commute. Or if you're really a glutton for punishment, you could also listen to it in your car during rush hour traffic jams.

The list features 80+ tracks ranging from newer groups like Tres Leches and Shabazz Palaces to classic Seattle bands like Mudhoney and Soundgarden.

The Seattle Squeeze - AKA, "period of maximum constraint" - begins Friday night at 10 p.m. when the Alaskan Way Viaduct closes forever, and SR 99 closes for three weeks. After that, buses will get kicked out of the 3rd Avenue transit tunnel (spring 2019), SR 99 tunnel tolling will begin, and crews will begin tearing down the viaduct, among other projects.

The sum of all those projects: maximum pressure on the region's transit system.
