King County Mumps Outbreak: The Latest Numbers
There are now 117 mumps cases in King County, including new cases in local school districts.
SEATTLE, WA - King County health officials first reported an outbreak of mumps on Nov. 29, which at that point was contained to a handful of people in Auburn. The outbreak has now grown to over 100 confirmed or probable cases in 11 local cities and five school districts. Mumps has also been reported in Pierce County, Yakima, and Spokane.
On Dec. 28, Seattle Public Schools confirmed that a student at Nova High School had a confirmed case of mumps. Kent, Highline, Federal Way, and Auburn schools also have mumps cases.
