Lightning, Heavy Rain Moving Through King County: NWS

Isolated thunderstorms were moving through King County during rush hour on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

SEATTLE, WA - The National Weather Service was warning King County residents of possible thunderstorms moving through the region Monday afternoon - that means possible heavy rain, hail, wind, and lightning.

As of 5:30 p.m., there were confirmed lightning strikes in the Covington and North Bend areas, according to the National Weather Service. In Pierce County, the city of Puyallup reported minor urban flooding from heavy rain.

"When thunder roars, go indoors," the weather service wrote in a tweet Monday afternoon.
