Bellevue Attorney Arrested For Witness Tampering: Seattle Police
Seattle police detectives arrested the attorney at the King County Courthouse Wednesday afternoon.

SEATTLE, WA - A local attorney who had recently represented suspects in an identity theft ring was arrested Wednesday at the King County Courthouse by Seattle police detectives. Police are accusing the attorney of money laundering and witness tampering. The arrest stems from a 2016 investigation into the ID theft ring; at the time, police searched the attorney's car and found evidence related to identity theft, they say.
In March 2016, police raided a home in the Skyway and arrested Kim "Mamma Fu" Le, and her daughter, Anh Nguyen, a mother-daughter pair believed to be running a multi-million dollar crime ring. The pair were accused of running an "industrial-scale theft operation."
Le, 46, and Nguyen, 26, were accused of stealing personal information from mailboxes. They would then use that information to commit fraud, such as opening credit card accounts or renting cars.

Identities were stolen from people across Puget Sound, from Normandy Park to Medina to Auburn, according to Seattle police. The pair were accused of stealing up $10,000 per day using stolen identities.
The attorney, whose practice is based in Bellevue, was booked into jail Wednesday evening for investigation of witness tampering. His bail request was initially denied.
