Kirkland Teen Wields Machete During Road Rage Incident: Police

A teen is under arrest after he allegedly brandished a machete and fired shots at another driver.

KIRKLAND, WA - A 19-year-old Kirkland man was arrested Thursday afternoon for wielding a machete and firing shots at a 47-year-old man in a road rage incident. Police said the victim was driving on Juanita Drive when he had an altercation with the suspect, who then swung the machete out of his car's window. Both vehicles then drove onto 76th Place NE where the suspect stopped his vehicle and got out, continuing to brandish the machete.

Police said the victim then fired a concealed carry pistol toward the ground in an effort to stop the attacker. The suspect fled, but then when the victim was on the phone with a 911 dispatcher, the teen returned pointing a rifle at the victim.

The suspect fired at the victim's vehicle, narrowly missing the man. The suspect fled again and was later tracked down by police and taken into custody.
