Macklemore Hit By Drunk Driver In Washington State: Reports

SEATTLE, WA - Seattle rapper Macklemore was hit by a suspected drunk driver on Friday night on Whidbey Island. Macklemore, whose name is Ben Haggerty, was hit head-on by a pickup truck while driving his Mercedes near the town of Langley, according to the website TMZ. He was not hurt in the crash, according to reports.

Washington State Patrol spokeswoman Heather Axtman told Komo News that a 24-year-old man was driving the pickup, and he did sustain minor injuries in the crash. Police took the man's blood at the scene anticipating a DUI arrest.

There were two other people in the car with Macklemore, according to TMZ, and one of the passengers sustained a minor injury.

Bucolic Langley is about 32 miles northwest of Seattle. The crash happened around 11 p.m. Friday.
