THURSTON COUNTY, WA — Both directions of Interstate 5 were blocked Monday afternoon after four semi-trucks crashed in Thurston County, 12 miles south of Olympia. Washington State Patrol said one of the semis, heading northbound, jackknifed into a center barrier just after 1 p.m. Another northbound semi hit the first one, pushing it through the barrier, where it was hit by a third truck heading south. A fourth truck veered off the road attempting to avoid the crash.

Troopers said no other vehicles were hit and there were no serious injuries to anyone involved. Traffic in both directions was blocked for almost 10 hours. WSDOT said all available crews responded to the scene, working to tow the trucks, clear the debris and repair the center divider. All lanes reopened just after 11 p.m.
