Man Critically Wounded In Rainier Beach Shooting

The man in his 20s was shot Wednesday night along Rainier Avenue South, according to police.

SEATTLE, WA — A man in his 20s was shot and seriously wounded along Rainier Avenue South late Wednesday night, according to Seattle police.

The man was standing outside a business near Holden Street at around 9 p.m. when two men approached and opened fire. The two shooters left the scene in a white Dodge Charger, police said.

The two suspects were not immediately located, but Seattle police gang detectives were investigating. The victim was taken to Harborview for treatment, police said.

The last shooting in this area happened late at night on Aug. 23 when a 17-year-old was shot near the Rainier Beach light rail station at Henderson and Martin Luther King Jr. Way. The teen was shot in the back, and police did not locate the shooter after searching the area with a helicopter.
