Man Killed By Seattle Police In Magnuson Park Identified

SEATTLE, WA - The King County Medical Examiner has identified the man shot and killed by Seattle police Monday night. The shooting happened after a car chase where the suspect allegedly fired shots out the window of his car at police.

Kyle Gray, 24, of Seattle, died Tuesday morning of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the medical examiner.

According to police, they first encountered Gray Monday night after an armed robbery at the Forever 21 store at the Northgate Mall. Police recognized Gray's car, the department reported, and engaged him in a pursuit. Gray crashed his car inside Magnuson Park and fled the wreck on foot.

According to video released by Seattle police Wednesday, police found Gray standing in a wooded area inside the park. As they shouted for him to put his hands in the air, and that he was "gonna get shot," Gray kept his hands by his sides. Police opened fire after Gray put his hands inside his waistband, according to the video.
