Man Killed In South Seattle Shooting Identified
Shamar Curry, 32, died after being shot Sunday night near the Rainier Playfield.

SEATTLE, WA - The man who was shot and killed Sunday night near Rainier Playfield in Seattle has been identified as Shamar Curry, 32. The King County Medical Examiner said that Curry died of a gunshot wound to the torso.
According to Seattle police, Curry was shot around 7 p.m. Sunday along the 3700 block of South Oregon Street, which runs along the northern end of Rainier Playfield. Curry was treated at the scene, but died later at Harborview.
A second person was also wounded in the shooting, but was taken to Harborview by private car. Police were able to interview the second victim. There have been no arrests yet in Curry's death.

The area where Curry was shot is mostly residential, and the part of Rainier Playfield where the shooting occurred contains a playground, tennis courts, and basketball courts.
