Man Shot By Officers After He ‘Rams’ Federal Building: Police

A man was shot killed Saturday night by Seattle police after he ran his car into the Federal building and shot a rifle, authorities said.

SEATTLE, WA — Seattle officers shot and killed a man Saturday night after he "rammed" his car into the Federal building downtown and fired a rifle, according to police.

After receiving reports of gunshots in the area shortly after 8 p.m., Seattle police officers found the man on the 100 block of Marion Street where he crashed the car. The man was still armed at the time, according to authorities.

Police attempted to make contact with the man, and multiple officers shot the man. The shooting is under investigation by the Force Investigation Team, authorities said.

Both police officers and medics from the Seattle Fire Department attempted to revive the man, but he died at the scene. The Office of Police Accountability and the Office of the Inspector General also responded to the shooting.

Video of the shooting will be released within 72 hours, police said.
