Maps Show How Seattle's Density Compares To Big Cities
If Seattle were as dense as Paris, we would all live downtown.

SEATTLE, WA - Two facts might lead you to believe that Seattle is a really dense city: we have the most construction cranes of any city in the U.S.; and those cranes are here to build tall apartment buildings to house the huge influx of Amazon and other tech workers flocking here from places like California.
But a new analysis of Seattle's population density - that is, the number of people per square mile - by the moving services company SpareFoot shows that we take up more land than sprawling Los Angeles. But, at least we have Portland beat.
Here's a graphic produced by SpareFoot that visualizes how much land Seattle would take up if we were as dense as other big cities.
