McGinn, Durkan Lead Mayoral Race In New Poll
A KING 5/KUOW poll shows former Mayor Mike McGinn in the lead, but "undecided" is ahead of him.

SEATTLE, WA - With a field of more than 20 candidates, it's no surprise that "undecided" is how most Seattle voters feel about the mayoral election at this point. A new KING 5/KUOW poll reveals that most people do not know who they're voting for. Of those that do, familiar faces came out on top: former Mayor Mike McGinn is in the lead at 19 percent, and former Seattle U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan is second at 14 percent.
From a fundraising standpoint, the poll is somewhat of a surprise. Public disclosure filings show Durkan has raised a whopping $256,000 so far, while McGinn has raised about $29,000. And other candidates are ahead of McGinn in fundraising, too: Jessyn Farrell has raised $54,000, Cary Moon has raised $88,000, and Nikkita Oliver has raised $57,000 (the other front-runner, State Sen. Bob Hasegawa, can't raise money for the mayoral race until the Legislative session is over).
Following McGinn and Durkan, activist and attorney Oliver (identified as "an artist" in the poll) came in No. 3 with 9 percent support; Hasegawa came in No. 4 with 8 percent support; Farrell came in No. 5 with 6 percent; and urban activist Moon was next with 3 percent support.

The poll was conducted over the first three weeks of June and included 503 likely Seattle primary voters. The margin of error was 4.5 points in either direction.
The poll also asked voters about other issues in Seattle, like whether Mayor Ed Murray should've stayed in the race. Approximately one in three voters said they would've still voted for Murray. Meanwhile, two out of every three voters were in support of a city income tax on high-income households (a plan in front of City Council would tax people earning $250,000 or more individually and $500,000 or more jointly).
