Murray, Cantwell Vote 'Yes' To Reopen Federal Government
The Senate voted 81-18 Monday to make way for a reopening of the federal government.

SEATTLE, WA - The state's two U.S. Senators were among the 81 who voted in favor of a measure that would reopen the federal government Monday. U.S. Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell were in favor of Monday's measure, which will allow the house to pass a temporary spending bill and reopen the government. The spending measure will fund the federal government only until Feb. 8.
Two Republicans and 16 Democrats voted against a measure that would reopen the government likely by Monday afternoon.
Some voters in Washington were upset about Murray and Cantwell's vote seeing it as capitulation to the Republicans and President Donald Trump. As part of Monday's deal, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) will get funding for six years. However, a fix for DACA Dreamers was not included.

Very disappointed that you decided to cave to the Republicans and more empty promises from Mitch McConnell. The American people deserve better than this.
