New Seattle Din Tai Fung Location Now Open
The world-famous Taiwanese restaurant specializing in xiao long bao has opened its second Seattle location.

SEATTLE, WA - Din Tai Fung, the world-famous purveyors of soup dumplings, opened its second Seattle-area restaurant on March 9 at the Pacific Place shopping center.
The shopping center announced the Din Tai Fung opening on Facebook Wednesday night - much to the surprise of xiao long bao lovers around the region. The restaurant opened with a ribbon cutting at 10:45 a.m. Thursday. But do expect to wait in line for your soup dumplings.
Din Tai Fung locations in Bellevue and in the University Village shopping center are perpetually crowded. But if you've never tried xiao long bao, it's probably worth the wait at least once.

"I understand the demand for Din Tai Fung is real but to wait over 2 hours for dinner to eat here is a bit beyond me," reads a Yelp review from the Bellevue location. "Maybe 45 minutes to an hour wait is ok but boy, 2 hours and you're pushing my buttons at that point. Thank goodness you can leave your phone number and they'll text you when you're about to get seated."
Din Tai Fung is also supposed to open a location at the Southcenter Mall in Tukwila - although that location has been advertised as under construction for more than a year.
