New Jimi Hendrix Album Coming In March

The album "Both Sides of the Sky" features collaborations with Buddy Miles, Johnny Winter, and Stephen Stills.

SEATTLE, WA - A new album of Jimi Hendrix music recorded between 1968 and 1970 will be released in March, according to the Seattle-born musician's estate. The album "Both Sides of the Sky" features collaborations with Buddy Miles, Johnny Winter, and Stephen Stills.

The album features 13 tracks, 10 of which have never been released on an album. The album is part of a posthumous trilogy that includes "Valleys of Neptune" and "People, Hell and Angels." "Both Sides of the Sky" will be available online, on CD, and vinyl.

Recorded between January 1968 and February 1970, Jimi’s desire to push the boundaries of blues music can be heard throughout. Both Sides of the Sky additionally highlights Jimi’s mastery of studio production and his increasing use of these facilities as a proving ground for new sounds, material, and techniques. Many of the album’s tracks were recorded by the trio that would come to be known as Band of Gypsys: Jimi on guitar and vocals, Billy Cox on bass, and Buddy Miles on drums.

The album will be released March 9. Learn more about the album from Hendrix' estate here.
