SEATTLE, WA — Portland-based New Seasons Market has issued a recall on all in-house ground beef products, including items sold in meat cases or packaged in Grab and Go areas, due to possible E. coli contamination. Washington has New Seasons stores in Seattle, Mercer Island, and Vancouver. The Washington Department of Health said three cases of E. coli were confirmed in Oregon.

According to New Seasons, fresh items including meatballs, meatloaf, and hamburger patties are affected. Shoppers are advised not to consume in-house ground beef products with "Packed On" dates between October 19 and October 23rd, and "Sell By" dates between October 23rd and October 26th.

E. coli can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, but sensitive groups can experience a form of kidney failure, which can be deadly. Anyone who purchased products within the date range can return them to the nearest New Seasons location for a full refund. Shoppers can send additional questions to talktous@newseasonsmarket.com.
