NFC Reader App for iPhone: Know More About NXP’s Initiative to Expand iPhone’s Capabilities into IoT

NXP has introduced iOS 11 toolkit in order to expand the capabilities of iPhone by connecting devices through innovative Internet of Things

NXP, the co-inventor of NFC has recently introduced a new toolkit in order to leverage iOS device tagging by utilizing the capabilities of Internet of Things. The initiative has been made by introducing new toolkit for NFC tagging through iOS with IC support. Internet of Things enables device tagging effortlessly to have a well organized inter-related device connection.

Earlier this summer, Apple made an announcement to offer its support to NFC Forum-compliant tags. In order to take the steps further, NFC tagging chips are now designed for a series of iPhones including iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X models by utilizing the exceptional iOS 11 platform. With this offering, the best news for developers is, they can use an entire suite of NFC hardware and software solutions to create solutions for consumer electronics, smart home devices, toy industries and more.

NFC TagInfo by NXP: It is a mobile app for iOS to support scanning tags and displaying info. The app is made available both for iOS and Android users.

NXP TagWriter: It is one of the widely used Android-based mobile app used to read as well as encode NFC tags.

NXP TagXplorer: The software tool has been developed for programming tags by utilizing Java runtime environments. macOS and Windows are utilized in order to leverage NXP’s innovative IC features.
NTAG SmartSensor Starter Kit: It is a kit to support iOS development on macOS by using LPCXpreso.
