Woman Killed By Driver In Ballard Identified
Cara E. Masciana, 65, was hit while crossing near 14th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 46th Street Monday night.

SEATTLE, WA - Te 65-year-old Seattle woman who was hit and killed by a driver who may have ran through a stop sign has been identified. Cara E. Masciana died of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the King County Medical Examiner.
The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. near 14th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 46th Street. Masciana was walking with her dogs across the street in an unmarked crosswalk when the driver hit her. One of the dogs, a pug, was seriously injured. The other dog ran from the scene.
There are no crosswalks at the intersection where Masciana was hit, but the area is busy with pedestrians. The location is near the southeast corner of the Ballard Blocks shopping center.

The driver was being held at the King County Jail for investigation of vehicular assault.
