Police Seek Semi Driver Involved In I-5 Crash Thursday

The crash happened just before 5 a.m. Thursday in downtown Seattle along I-5.

SEATTLE, WA - Washington State Patrol is looking for witnesses to a crash that happened early Thursday morning along I-5 in Seattle involving a minivan and a semitrailer. The semi left the scene of the crash, and police are trying to track down the driver. The driver of the minivan sustained injures when his van flipped - firefighters had to cut the vehicle open in the middle of the highway to get the driver out.

The accident happened at around 4:48 a.m. Thursday near Seneca Street in Seattle, state patrol reported. The driver of the minivan, a 60-year-old man from Auburn, clipped the rear of the semi as he was changing lanes, which caused him to flip over.

Police say the semi continued driving, and are calling the crash a "hit-and-run." The driver of the minivan suffered a broken arm and other injuries.
