Protest In Seattle Over Likely Kavanaugh Supreme Court Approval
Pro-choice groups and politicians are planning a rally Saturday in downtown Seattle.

SEATTLE, WA - Protesters opposed to the Supreme Court appointment of Judge Brett Kavanaugh will demonstrate in downtown Seattle Saturday afternoon. The rally is being organized by NARAL Pro-Choice Washington, but will be attended by multiple political groups.
News of the rally followed a speech Friday afternoon by U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, where she indicated she would vote for Kavanaugh's appointment. With her vote secure, the Senate can approve Kavanaugh.
"Kavanaugh is a liar who already lied under oath, and his ever-evolving stories denying the [sex assault] allegations have no credibility. Brett Kavanaugh has lied, under oath, over and over to the Senate Judiciary about everything from his drunken behavior to his clear determination to gut Roe v. Wade. We can’t and won’t go back to the days when abortion was illegal in this country. We know what’s at stake in this fight: our most precious and fundamental rights," the organizers wrote in a news release about the rally.
