SEATTLE, WA — Protesters speaking out against police brutality took their message inside Seattle's City Hall Tuesday night.

The march started earlier in the afternoon as a large rally organized by Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant at Cal Anderson park in Capitol Hill. But after the rally, a march began down the hill and into the heart of downtown Seattle.

According to reporters on scene, Sawant herself led the march up to and inside City Hall, where protesters continued chanting slogans and displaying signs calling for the defunding and demilitarization of Seattle's police force.

The video shows a number of speakers taking turns to address the crowd and share their stories of abuse at the hands of police, or calls for the police to be defunded.

At another point hundreds can be heard chanting "you're going to lose your job" in an apparent reference to recent calls for Mayor Jenny Durkan's resignation following her handling of the police response to protests.

After around an hour inside the building protesters left peacefully, according to reporters on scene.
