Puget Sound Population Keeps Booming
The Census Bureau is reporting that the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue region population continues to grow.

SEATTLE, WA - Pierce, Snohomish, and King counties have grown by 64,000 people from April 2016 to April 2017, according to the News-Tribune. The region is the sixth-fastest growing in the country behind the metropolitan areas of Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Phoenix and Washington, D.C. While the numbers include births and deaths, the leading cause of the boom is people moving in from outside the area.
The population growth is putting a strain on the region's transportation. Seattle was recently ranked among the worst traffic on earth in a recent study. The metropolitan area ranked 20th in the world, worse than some much larger cities like Rio de Janeiro.
The total population of the three-county region is now 3.9 million. Most of the growth is in King County, with the addition of 33,000 people. In Pierce County, the population increased by 17,000.
