King County Metro issued a travel advisory on Sunday stating that transit may be delayed Monday morning.
The winter storm warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday until 4 p.m. Monday.
Although the warning affects the entire Puget Sound region from Everett to the Oregon border, the weather service highlighted that the storm will especially impact the areas south of Seattle.
The snow should begin to fall around 10 p.m. Sunday, the weather service says. Snow will fall through Monday morning, which could have a major affect on the morning commute. Snow will fall off-and-on throughout the day Monday.
Some areas were already seeing snow on Sunday afternoon. Grassy areas in Enumclaw had up to an inch of snow, and there was a visible rain-snow falling mix in the Seattle area.
