Puget Sound Weekend Forecast: Wet & Breezy, But A Little Warmer

SEATTLE — Puget Sound is in for a breezy, cloudy and somewhat rainy weekend, but Saturday looks to be warmer than most recent afternoons. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures should reach the mid-to-low 60s around the Seattle area Saturday afternoon, with just a 20 percent chance of rain before evening.

Things will start to take a rainier turn Saturday night, setting up for a soggy Sunday before a break in the weather arrives just in time to kick off the next work week.

"This front will move inland starting late Saturday night and it will spend the bulk of Sunday slowly plodding eastward," NWS Seattle wrote Friday. "This front should exit the area by Monday morning with an upper level ridge bringing a break in precipitation over the area and perhaps even some peeks of sun. Afternoon high temps during this period will warm a little bit with lower to mid 60s Saturday before cooling with the front down into the mid to upper 50s Sunday and Monday."

Both days of the weekend look to be breezy, with gusts peaking between 15 and 20 mph around Seattle and Tacoma through Sunday afternoon.

Monday and Tuesday are forecast to be partly sunny before rain emerges mid-week and potentially sticks around for a while. Forecasters on Friday said the models for the long-term were still in disagreement, and more details on what to expect for the latter half of next week will be firmed up in the coming days.
